Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund Holds Meeting with GMSA National
The Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund of Ghana held a meeting with the Ghana Muslim Students Association (GMSA) National to discuss ways to strengthen their partnership and enhance their impact. The meeting took place on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Zakat Fund's headquarters in Accra Newtown.
In attendance were Tamim Mohammed Amin, the GMSA National President, Nurudeen Salisu, the Organizing Secretary, and Isshaku Muhammad Mubarak, the Education and Welfare Secretary. Representatives from the Zakat Fund included Hajj B.B Adam, Dr. Shaibu, Samudini, Ukasha, Ibrahim, and Sherif.
The team discussed various topics, including the importance of documenting GMSA's history, activating the National Board of Patrons, and organizing public lectures in collaboration with other organizations.
The Gmsa executives were advised to continue working for Allah's sake, restructure the organization, help promote the Zakat Fund, and improve their social media presence. They were also advised to draft and publish a fundraising strategy document and add training, research, and impact assessment activities to their plans.
The GMSA President expressed his gratitude for the meeting and shared his vision of making GMSA more impactful by coordinating activities of regional and institutional branches. He also confirmed that GMSA has 2 plots of land at Accra Technical University (ATU)'s New site at Samsam registered in GMSA's name as part of their assets.
The meeting concluded with action points and a commitment to work together to enhance the impact of both organizations.
